Super Smash Bros: Basic Controls!

Left / Right: Move.
X / Y / Up: Jump! Press again in the air to double jump.
Hold R: Shield! It gives protection from attacks.
L: Grab! Throw opponents by pressing Up / Down / Left / Right.

A: Standard Tilt! A close range attack.
A + Left / Right: Side Tilt! A close range attack towards the side.
A + Up: Up Tilt! A close range attack facing up.
A + Down: Down Tilt! A close range attack.

Hold and Release A + Left / Right: Side Smash! A powerful attack towards the side.
Hold and Release A + Up: Up Smash! A powerful attack facing up.

Hold and Release A + Down: Down Smash! A powerful attack.

B: Standard Special! A various attack.
B + Left / Right: Side Special! A various attack that usually points sideways.
B + Up: Up Special! A various attack that usually points up.
B + Down: Side Special! A various attack.
